Announcing the Consortium for Python Data API Standards
Dataframes are fragmented between Pandas, PySpark, cuDF, Vaex, Modin, Dask, Ibis, Apache Arrow, and more. This fragmentation comes with significant costs, from whole libraries being reimplemented for a different array or dataframe library to end users having to re-learn APIs and best practices when they move from one framework to another. Today, we are announcing the Consortium for Python Data API Standards, which aims to tackle this fragmentation by developing API standards for arrays (a.k.a. tensors) and dataframes.

Luminaire: A hands-off Anomaly Detection Library
Luminaire is a python package that provides ML-driven solutions for monitoring time series data. Luminaire provides several anomaly detection and forecasting capabilities that incorporate correlational and seasonal patterns as well as uncontrollable variations in the data over time.

HEC Montréal: Plus d’un demi-million pour des infrastructures de recherche en IA et en économie
Deux infrastructures de recherche liées à des projets menés par des professeurs de l’École ont reçu une importante subvention de la part du Fonds des leaders John-R.-Evans de la Fondation canadienne pour l’innovation (FCI). L’un des deux projets, financé à hauteur de près de 357 000 $, concerne les professeurs spécialisés en intelligence artificielle Laurent Charlin et Jian Tang. Leur recherche porte sur la modélisation des préférences complexes des utilisateurs pour la recommandation à l’aide de l’apprentissage profond.
